beatnik filmstars - all popstars are talentless slags (1996)

10" ep: buy (cd/10") / listen / myspace / bandsite

       (in the file pile)

i don't want to even go into how awesome everything andrew jarrett does is and probably always will be... even the skip my 10" 45 had for about twenty loops in the end 10 seconds of the outro noises of "pilot jack harrison" (one of my favorites) was amazing... but as soon as i got up to record what it was doing so i could share how awesome it was with my buddy matt v (who introduced me to this ep after i got him into inhospitalable), it moved itself on through to the next track as if to say, "that was a special treat just for you mr. kiss" with a blink-wink from the power indicator and a little smile from the equalizers on my stereo, which actually never make a straight face unless i'm ripping vinyl. if you're not into the beatnik filmstars or have a problem with the treble that kicks as hard as the bass (which is what i love most about them and earlier flaming lips stuff)... turn down the highs a little and get into them because this ep really deserves a good listen from all.

p.s. if you want to hear the extra special treat of hearing this on vinyl... too bad - you'll have to get your own because no vinyl rips today - i'm laying back and relaxing... there's a cd rip in the file pile still though from when i posted it on the old blog. if yr too cheap to buy one get it and enjoy.
