tom waits - mule variations (1999)

buy / listen / myspace / bandsite

"house where nobody lives" really tore me up today but good ol' uncle tom was right there to pat me on the back and play the father figure letting me know he understands when things are hard... then smacking me on the back to say now let's get back to business.

this is on my top five list of albums that everyone should get to hear at least once in their lifetime at just the right moment... so many classic heartfelts to comfort and down home 'n' gritty junkyard ditties to get your groove back... all together a classic for anyone to enjoy whether you're a fan from before closing time or are the one getting drinks to go at the end of the night for the gravel and grit of the later years grunt and gristle foot stompers. "what's he building in there? i tell you one thing... he's not building a playhouse for the children"
